No Time to Age: Uncoupling Aging from Chronological Time

چکیده
Multicellular life evolved from simple unicellular organisms that could replicate indefinitely, being essentially ageless. At this point, split into two fundamentally different cell types: the immortal germline representing an unbroken lineage of division with no intrinsic endpoint and mortal soma, which ages dies. In review, we describe as clock-free soma clock-bound discuss aging respect to three DNA-based cellular clocks (telomeric, DNA methylation, transposable element). The ticking these corresponds stepwise progressive limitation growth regeneration somatic cells term restriction. Somatic restriction acts in opposition strategies ensure continued replication regeneration. We thus consider plasticity a process not fixed pace chronological time but one can speed up or slow down depending on rate clocks. further how factor reprogramming might be used potentially reverse it by causing tick backward. Therefore, may eventually lead therapeutic treat degenerative diseases altering itself, condition common us all.

Chronological Time and Chronological Age: Problems of Temporal Diversity
It is the aim of this volume to revitalize the debate about the concepts of time implicit in the study of aging. A potentially interested but already overburdened reader may wonder whether one needs or whether there is a need for such a book. Time seems such an ordinary unproblematic topic that a work devoted to it might appear to be a digression from many pressing problems of aging. Indeed, ag...
متن کاملUncoupling reproduction from metabolism extends chronological lifespan in yeast.
Studies of replicative and chronological lifespan in Saccharomyces cerevisiae have advanced understanding of longevity in all eukaryotes. Chronological lifespan in this species is defined as the age-dependent viability of nondividing cells. To date this parameter has only been estimated under calorie restriction, mimicked by starvation. Because postmitotic cells in higher eukaryotes often do no...
متن کاملChronological aging leads to apoptosis in yeast
During the past years, yeast has been successfully established as a model to study mechanisms of apoptotic regulation. However, the beneficial effects of such a cell suicide program for a unicellular organism remained obscure. Here, we demonstrate that chronologically aged yeast cultures die exhibiting typical markers of apoptosis, accumulate oxygen radicals, and show caspase activation. Age-in...
متن کاملReal-Time Kinematic Network of Tehran, from Design to Application
Following the request of the Tehran municipality and in order to provide the spatial information required in their various projects, a real-time kinematic network has been designed for Tehran. Based on the existing measures such as the dilution of precision at the network point positions, two different designs have been proposed. A minimum number of six GNSS stations are used in both of the pro...
